Further to the requests made by The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) along with various industry representatives concerning the extension of VERBİS registration periods that it is not possible to prepare personal data processing inventory by the data controllers due to Covid-19 pandemic, which has an effect in our country as well as in the whole world, as some workplaces are physically closed or switched into remote / rotation business model therefore, by, and during the period of the obligation to register to the Data Controllers Registry, the Personal Data Protection Board decided unanimously on 06.23.2020 with a decision number of 2020/482 that;
The deadline to fulfill the obligation to register is extended to 30th September, 2020, for the real and legal person data controllers including foreign data controllers whose annual number of employees are more than 50 or the annual financial balance sheet total is more than 25 million TL, and the natural and legal person data officers,
The deadline to fulfill the obligation to register is extended to 31st March, 2021, for the data controllers whose annual number of employees is less than 50 and the annual financial balance is less than 25 million TL main however its main activity is processing special categories of personal data,
The deadline to fulfill the obligation to register is extended to 31st March, 2021, for the public institutions and organizations.
